Moving Toward Equality in Illinois
On March 5, 2009, the Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act (House Bill 2234) was passed by the House Youth and Family Committee and is now pending in the House. The bill, introduced by Representative Greg Harris, would permit couples (lesbian, gay or heterosexual) to enter into civil
unions and receive the same rights and responsibilities given to married
